I've published again in today's edition, and I'm still waiting for the pictures of Bush in my mail with snazzy slogans "It's opens season on towelheads, and he's the Maytag Repairman!" and such. But until that time, I can enjoy the reaction I'm getting in the comments online.
This is what I wrote: (mind you, it was before McSame picked Sarah Palin--ohh, that would have been sweet)
Ignore the fear tactics
August 31, 2008
The GOP is telling us that Barack Obama isn't "ready" to be president. This, from a party that nominated the most inexperienced, unprepared decider in our history. Someone who based foreign-policy decisions on his "gut," who proudly stated that he doesn't read newspapers, who can barely put a coherent sentence together and was easily manipulated by much-smarter people.
I don't think we are in danger of Obama starting a war with the wrong country, or playing guitar and eating cake when a major city is drowning. No, I think the only danger would be if we allow the usual fear tactics to torpedo a true statesman to bring the needed change for four more years of the same.
Note--they took out the line I had about Obama not reading a children's book after being told our nation is under attack. Presumably for space reasons, but I really wish they would have left it in. The hate/spin would have really been kicked up a notch.
Half the feedback so far in the comments section are positive, (all seen here), the other half were intelligent, well-articulated counter-arguements like this:
obama is a evil America hating socialist. His
mentor was the America hating racist Rev Wright.
He chose the America hating terrorist William Ayers as one of his best friends. We see the pattern.I HATE obama and his evil **** wife.
HATE OBAMA! HATE OBAMA! HATE OBAMA!
Wow. As odd as that was, I actually preferred that rant to a racist who was attempting to be intellectual:
Excuse me but the Alaska Governor has more executive experience than any of the 3 other participants combined including Biden, Obama, and McCain. She's been a Mayor and a governor while the rest haven't ever run anything. Barack O'Bambi is what this hollow chocolate Easter bunny is. A thin shell of deception with nothing but a good set of pipes. A far left wing Socialist with zero experience and like the famous Wizard of Oz, able to use his booming voice and other theatrical effects to dazzle the stupid left wing nut myrmidons who stand about cheering this phony baloney actor who reads from a teleprompter but refuses a fair debate with McCain where questions are not previously prepared, studied and approved and audiences chosen.
"hollow chocolate". Nice. You really need to spin your wheels off to say that the 1 1/2 year governor of 17 people has more experience than everyone. (She certainly has more experience with ethics investigations than any of the three save McCain). But logic takes a holiday when you are desperate.
Just thought you'd like the chuckle. I will probably get more as the day goes on, but you get the idea. Nothing left to do but wait by my mailbox for the letters and for more phone calls.
